As part of the development of the road construction industry, JSC “KazdorNII” has launched the Unified base of road construction materials and innovative technologies in the pilot mode. Its purpose is to improve the quality of roads and increase transparency in the road construction industry, to support domestic production and science, as well as to prevent falsification and lobbying of technologies and materials.

At the moment, 112 products have been added to the database. 37 received “green status” (passed through laboratory and monitoring control), 23 - “yellow status” (access to experimental sections after laboratory tests), and 52 - “gray status”, which implies passing initial laboratory tests. Systematization of data helps to identify and use the most effective solutions to improve road safety and quality.

A number of unique domestic developments have been tested in the pilot sections this year. Including the latest developments of KazdorNII scientists: Qsmart-PM bitumen and asphalt concrete modifier, which increases the resistance of pavements to deformation ( currently being tested on a section of the Kapshagai-Kurty highway), QSmart-AntiGlaze, an environmentally friendly and effective anti-icing agent up to -25°C ( currently being tested on a section of the Astana Bypass highway), and QSmart-RoadPaint, an organosoluble paint for road markings with improved resistance to weather conditions and long service life ( a test section on the Almaty-Bishkek highway).

Also being tested in Kazakhstan are QELAST modifier, AlfaDob adhesion additive, as well as various mixes and additives for soil, cold asphalt and Go Green sealant. Each of these technologies undergoes mandatory scientific and technical support for two years to fully evaluate their effectiveness. The work on creation and filling of the Unified Base will allow to reduce the costs of road repair and construction, ensure their durability, reduce environmental impact and improve road safety.
