ABOUT INSTITUTE

Due to the high qualification of specialists and the availability of a set of equipment for testing materials according to national (ST RK), international (ISO, EN) and foreign standards (AASHTO, ASTM, BS, etc.) the following has been carried out:

• Introduction of new asphalt concrete compositions on sections of “Astana-Schuchinsk” road and “Western Europe-Western China”;

• Provision of consulting services for “Western Europe - Western China” project management;

• Independent examination of materials and works of “Western Europe - Western China” project on the instructions of the Committee for Roads and contractors' requests;

• Development of the legal framework and design estimated documentation for “Astana-Schuchinsk” toll road;

• Monitoring of weight parameters of vehicles on the road network of the republic;

• Scientific-technical support for the reconstruction of “Astana-Schuchinsk” road;

• Examination of the quality of prototype bitumen and polymer bitumen prepared from Karazhanbas oil in the laboratory of the Fushun Institute (PRC) (for a bitumen plant in Aktau);

• Monitoring the quality of applied road bitumen and cements;

• Project support for the implementation of innovative repair technologies (use of thin wear layers and repair of expansion joints in cement concrete pavements with hot mastics).

• Quality control of road-construction materials:

Stone materials (crushed-stone, boulders, ballast), crushed screenings, mineral powder, bitumen, emulsions, concrete, cement, geosynthetics, soils, sand-gravel-crushed stone mixtures

• Technological control of produced materials:

Bitumens modified with polymers and asphalt concretes based on them, soil stabilizers, repair mixtures, impregnant compositions, adhesive additives
