The quality of road construction largely depends on the quality of the materials used in road construction. In this regard, the Kazakhstan Road Research Institute, with the support of the Committee of Highways of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, initiated the first pre-season inspection of asphalt concrete plants in Kazakhstan.
Before the inspection, statistics were collected on the production of asphalt concrete mixtures in the republic: types of plants, capacities, equipment characteristics, etc. The details that affect the final quality of the mixture were evaluated.
"Special attention is paid to the condition of asphalt concrete plants, as any defects can seriously affect the final quality of the product. These measures are being taken to improve the quality and condition of the plants. Therefore, during the inspection, specialists also check their compliance with quality standards and regulations," commented Kairat Mukhambetkaliev, Head of the Department of New Technologies of KazdorNIA, PhD.
The verification measures are aimed at improving the quality of work in road projects at the stage of procurement of materials and preparation of asphalt concrete mixtures.
There are more than 300 asphalt concrete plants operating in Kazakhstan. The inspection has been carried out since April 2 this year by KazdorNIA specialists with the participation of KazAvtoZhol JSC and NCKDA. By now, it remains to check the paragraphs in the North Kazakhstan and Kostanay regions.
