“KazdorNII” JSC took part in Almaty International Digital Forum 2024. Within the framework of the forum, road scientists presented digital solutions to improve the quality of roads.
Such digital developments of the Institute as the database of “Road Construction Materials and New Technologies” (rcmbase.kz), the Bridge Maintenance Management System (BMMS) and the Street and Road Network Management System (SRNMS) should significantly change the approach to road construction and maintenance, as well as increase the efficiency of the city infrastructure management.
For example, in the rcmbase.kz database, contractors and designers will be able to quickly find the quarries, asphalt and bitumen plants nearest to the construction site on the system’s website and immediately see their quality information. Using the database will facilitate construction and increase the speed of road design, and the transparency of the data will contribute to improving the quality of road construction.
And the Bridge Maintenance Management System (BMMS) is designed to bring together and transfer into electronic format the still disparate information on engineering structures of the republic. The developers of KazdorNII claim that once bridges are entered into the database, users will be able to obtain data on each bridge, including design and technical characteristics, current assessment of technical condition, current information on detected deformations and repairs. The digitised appearance of bridges will also be posted in the system, and it will be possible to see hard-to-reach places on them. The BMMS can automatically generate reports on each object, prompt about approaching deadlines for routine or major repairs, as well as plan the budget for such works.
Let's remind, in Kazakhstan there are more than 3,5 thousand bridge structures, which, according to experts, should be diagnosed every 5 years, old objects - every 3 years.
In turn, SRNMS is an integrated tool that allows multi-user management, editing and visualisation of road assets in order to improve the efficiency of city infrastructure management. The system allows, without leaving your office, to get instant access to any highway or street in Kazakhstan hundreds and thousands of kilometres away. This gives road specialists unique opportunities to make decisions when planning road maintenance or repair.
These solutions allow to provide the principles of full transparency in the selection and quality of materials, as well as in the planning of works on construction and maintenance of roads.
