By order of the Chairman of the Committee of Highways under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Birzhan Bisekenovich Kaneshev has been appointed President of the Kazakhstan Road Research Institute (KazdorNII).

Mr. Kaneshev is a graduate of the Saratov Polytechnic Institute and the National Higher School of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.

He began his professional career in 1988 at a transport enterprise. Throughout his career, Mr. Kaneshev has held senior government and administrative positions in the fields of transport and communications, digitalization, and international relations, as well as in regional executive bodies of the West Kazakhstan and Mangystau regions and in national companies such as Samruk-Kazyna JSC and Kazakh Invest National Company JSC.

As of October 6, 2025, Mr. Birzhan Kaneshev has officially assumed his duties as President of KazdorNII.
