KazdorNII scientists are going to determine the effectiveness of impregnating compounds for cement concrete pavements available on the market.

For this purpose, competitive trials on the application of impregnating compounds will be initiated at test sites. The tests will be conducted in the southern and northern regions of the country, which will allow to evaluate the effectiveness of the materials in different climatic conditions.

The competitive trials will collect data on the functional properties of various impregnating formulations, enabling suppliers to improve their products for defects of various kinds.

The final results of the competition will be finalized in the spring of next year, after which a discussion on the feasibility of compulsory use of the compounds available on the market in the maintenance of cement concrete pavements will be held with the participation of departmental organizations.

Note that earlier road scientists launched competitive trials of road markings among domestic manufacturers of paints. Manufacturers with a low rating, whose products will not pass the competitive trials, will not be allowed to participate in public procurement procedures.

Also, “KazdorNII” intends to inspect and implement the rating method for all road construction materials in order to improve the quality of roads at all stages of construction and maintenance. The determination of the functional properties of various impregnating compounds will help to conduct research to find innovative solutions for improving road infrastructure and increasing its service life.
