The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan has launched a pilot version of the Unified Base of Road Construction Materials and Technologies - the platform is aimed at modernizing approaches to road design and construction.
Unified Base of Road Construction Materials and New Technologies is a digital platform that collects information needed for road construction and repair in one place. In the database, you can find data on quarries, asphalt plants, road machinery and materials. Also, information about the quality of these materials and their application areas is specified. The platform is available for both large companies and small and medium-sized businesses. The main advantage of the database is simplified access to information, which will help to speed up the implementation of projects and improve their quality.
The project was launched in pilot mode for testing. This allows to identify possible challenges and improve the functionality of the platform. According to Yerik Amirbayev, Vice President of KazdorNII JSC, this approach is necessary for the platform to meet the real needs of industry participants. Pilot mode will help developers to better understand what functions need to be improved to make the system as useful as possible.
In the future, the use of the Unified Base will become mandatory. This will help to organize information and make processes more transparent. All data presented on the platform have been verified by the Institute's specialists. It is important that now market participants do not need to turn to intermediaries for information: it is available directly on the platform. It is noted that this will reduce the risks of fraud and increase fairness in the market.
"Like any innovation, the platform faces a certain amount of skepticism. Some market participants are used to working with old methods and are cautious about new technologies. But, as practice shows, flexibility and readiness to adapt to modern conditions play a key role in success. After familiarizing with our tool, an honest entrepreneur will have no fears”,- noted Yerik Amirbayev.
In the first year of the platform's operation, KazdorNII developers plan to collect feedback and analyze the results. This will help to improve the system and make it more convenient and effective for all industry participants. According to the Vice President of the Institute, in the future the platform will become an important tool for everyone working in road construction.
