From the new year in Kazakhstan will update road regulations in accordance with international standards. A total of 26 points in the document will be changed by the end of 2030, reports “24KZ”.

Norms, according to which Kazakhstan laid asphalt, will now change. The existing standards will be improved. According to “KazdorNII” they will be brought closer to the world standards. From 1200 rules, which are to be changed, more than 200 points have been updated today. All this is the influence of time and new requirements for road safety, says Andrei Zhen, director of the standardization department.

Andrei Chzhen, Director of the Standardization Department of JSC KazdorNII:

***- More than 85 regulations have been canceled this year. Such types of norms as of recommendatory nature have been canceled. All this will allow to define a clear order of development of norms, correctness of their application and registration. Three new national standards have already been developed. These standards have already been approved. These standards provide for the technology of “Superpave”. This technology has proved itself well.

Kazakhstan last updated its standards twenty years ago. Since then, experts say, not only the climate has changed, but also the traffic load and intensity of traffic on the roads. Therefore, it is no longer possible to build them according to the old rules, when the world's scientific and technological progress has advanced a lot.

***- As part of the introduction of international standards developed in Kazakhstan next year, a pilot project will be implemented. Pilot sections where these roads will be built have already been identified, i.e. climatic peculiarities in different regions of Kazakhstan will be taken into account. Based on the results of the pilot project implementation, the SuperPPF will already be recommended in other regions of Kazakhstan. Reforming of road sector regulations in Kazakhstan is planned to be implemented in stages until 2030.
