Kazakhstan Road Research Institute (KazdorNII) and Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) signed a memorandum of understanding in Astana. The document formalized agreements on the development of joint projects in the field of road infrastructure, scientific research, and standardization.
The negotiations covered key areas of cooperation, including joint research and development in the road industry, improving road safety, and building a test site. Standardization and systematic exchange of experience played an important role in the agreements, which will allow Kazakhstan to adopt South Korea's best practices and adapt them to the country's climatic conditions.
The signing of the memorandum opens up new opportunities for international scientific cooperation. KazdorNII, representing Kazakhstan, will become the main territory for future joint research and the introduction of new technologies. The plans include conducting tests, developing standards, and systematically exchanging experience with Korean colleagues. This visit by the Korea Expressway Corporation delegation was a reciprocal visit: representatives of KazdorNII had previously visited South Korea to study road infrastructure management experience.
The signing of the document was an important step in strengthening the strategic partnership between the countries. For Kazakhstan, this means access to the best global practices and technologies, and for the Korean side, participation in the development of Eurasian transport corridors.
