Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a law amending legislative acts concerning equity participation in housing construction, motorways, and transportation of persons with disabilities.

One of the key sections of the law is aimed at improving the quality of public roads. In particular, the document establishes at the legislative level the functioning of the Unified Base of Road Construction Materials and New Technologies https://rcmbase.qazjolgzi.kz.

This digital platform is already operating in pilot mode and collects all the information necessary for road construction and repair in one place. The database contains data on quarries, asphalt concrete plants, road equipment, materials, their quality, and areas of application. The platform is available to both large companies and small and medium-sized businesses.

"Now the use of the Unified Base is enshrined in law. It is a real working tool that simplifies processes, makes the market more transparent and reduces risks. We can already see that the system is in demand, and its use will become an integral part of work in the road industry," said KazdorNII Vice President Erik Amirbaev.

The main advantage of the database is the transparency and accessibility of information, which simplifies the preparation and realization of road projects, reduces their implementation time and reduces the risks of poor-quality construction.

The introduction of the platform is expected to be one of the important steps towards the digitalization and modernization of the road industry in Kazakhstan.
