Scientists’ inventions will be more than 90% made of domestic raw materials At the Kaztraffic-2023 exhibition specialists of the Kazakhstan Road Research Institute presented to foreign colleagues such domestic developments as soil stabilizer, impregnation mixture for concrete and bitumen modifier. These materials were created taking into account the impact of harsh climate on the quality of roads.

In particular, the soil stabilizer developed in the laboratory of “KazdorNII” is a technology of reinforcement of subgrade soils, applicable also for the construction of roadways of oil and gas industry. The composition and production of this development have 93% of Kazakhstan content.

Also, the lion’s share of domestic material and its production has impregnation mixture for concrete. It provides effective care for cement concrete road surfaces. The composition of the mixture reduces the water absorption of concrete and increases its frost resistance. 

Another development of Kazakhstan scientists has special advantages - it is a bitumen modifier. This material has a low brittleness temperature and high degree of softening, convenient for transportation and direct introduction into the bitumen mass at the place of use. At the same time, the modifier is based on cheaper components.

Foreign road experts and possible investors who visited the exhibition were pleased with the success of Kazakhstan scientists. The audience was especially interested in the resistance of domestic developments to the harsh climate of Kazakhstan, which has a significant impact on the deformation of roads. According to the visitors, the materials created by the institute can be useful and convenient to use in countries where transport and logistics potential is waiting to be realized.
