The Kazakhstan Road Research Institute (KazdorNII) and Gazprom Neft's bitumen business operator, Gazpromneft-Bitumen Materials (Russia), have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of road construction. The main goal of the partnership is to conduct joint research, testing, and implementation of innovative technologies that contribute to improving the quality and durability of Automobile Roads.
Under the agreement, special attention will be paid to studying the properties and behavior of bituminous materials in the climate and under the intense loads characteristic of Kazakhstani Automobile Roads. The parties plan to develop a research base, improve testing methods, and expand the range of solutions that increase the resistance of road pavement to temperature changes and high loads.
The partner's range of bituminous materials includes more than 300 items for the construction of roads, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure facilities. Some of Gazprom Neft's developments have already been included in the Unified Base of Road Construction Materials and New Technologies (rcmbase.qazjolgzi.kz). From 2025, the use of the database will be enshrined in law and will be mandatory for the realization of road projects in Kazakhstan.
Thus, the agreement between KazdorNII and Gazprom Neft will become part of the systematic work to develop scientific approaches in the road sector, will allow combining practical experience and scientific resources, and is expected to contribute to the introduction of modern technologies in the country's road construction.
