Employees of the laboratory of “KazdorNII” JSC studied and selected materials from about 40 crushed-stone borrow pits in Akmola, North-Kazakhstan, Almaty and Zhetysu oblasts. Samples from the borrow pits are tested in the research laboratory of the Institute.
As promised, the laboratories of the institute covered four oblasts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Tests of the physical and mechanical properties of borrow pits in Almaty oblast, as well as the Zerenda and Arshaly districts of the Akmola oblast, have been fully completed.
Now samples from the borrow pits of Akzhar, Kyzylzhar and Esil regions are being studied in the North-Kazakhstan region, and the borrow pits of Panfilov region in Zhetysu oblast. In addition, the institute has begun to select materials from the quarries of Karaganda oblast.
Let us recall that information about the materials of borrow pits will be digitized and included in the Unified Database of New Technologies and Road Construction Materials. The data of the Unified database of NT and RCM will be used by contractors in the design and construction of roads.
According to experts’ forecasts, digitized borrow pits data on a GIS map will significantly speed up and simplify road construction in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Also, borrow pits materials will have recommendations for use in various climatic zones of the country. In general, the work is aimed at systematically improving the quality of the country’s road construction.
