The world’s consumption of fossil fuels is growing rapidly, as is the amount of sulfur that is produced as a by-product of the industrial cleaning process. Therefore, waste disposal must be planned in a special way.
To date, “KazdorNII” JSC conducts research to introduce the technology of using modified sulfur to strengthen low-strength inert materials, which will allow the wide use of local sandy soils, weak stone materials, ash and slag in road construction.
One of the perspective directions which scientists of the Institute work on is the production of crushed sulfur from shell rock, in Western Kazakhstan due to the lack of deposits of strong rock material, there is an acute problem of using low-strength local shell rock and waste products of their extraction and processing.
Improving the performance characteristics of crushed limestone-rashech rock is facilitated by sulfur impregnation. At the moment tests are being carried out at the institute and at the experimental sites.
