In Memory of an Outstanding Scientist and Professional – Oleg Alexandrovich Krasikov
At the age of 76, Oleg Alexandrovich Krasikov, a distinguished scientist, engineer, and expert in the field of road construction, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and academician of the Russian and International Academies of Transport, passed away.
Oleg Alexandrovich dedicated his life to the development of the road industry and science. After graduating from the Ust-Kamenogorsk Construction and Road Institute in 1976, he began his career at the Kazakh branch of SoyuzdorNII (now KazdorNII), where he worked for 30 years, rising from engineer to director. Under his leadership, unique devices for assessing the condition of road surfaces were developed, and his scientific works became the foundation for the regulatory framework of Kazakhstan’s road industry.
Throughout his fruitful career, Oleg Alexandrovich published over 250 scientific works, including 41 regulatory documents and 13 textbooks, many of which are still used by specialists in Kazakhstan and beyond.
He was not only a scientist but also a teacher who trained numerous young specialists who contributed to the development of the road industry.
The team of KazdorNII expresses its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Oleg Alexandrovich. His work, knowledge, and contribution to the advancement of science and the road industry will remain an example for future generations.
