About 50 experts from 23 countries - members of the World Road Association (PIARC) - have gathered in Kazakhstan.
*In 2023, Kazakhstan joined the Executive Committee of the Association for the first time in its history, receiving a mandate for four years. Today, the country is hosting a meeting of the newly formed committee with the participation of representatives of other countries.
The meeting was officially opened by the Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev. In his welcome speech, the Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening partnership in road infrastructure, as well as the importance of implementing advanced solutions and sharing practices for sustainable development of the industry.
Honorary President of PIARC Nazir Alli expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and noted the high level of organization of the event. According to him, the joint work allows to build sustainable and safe transportation systems.
During the meeting the participants discuss the directions of PIARC work for 2025-2029. Among the key topics are the development of new approaches in the design and operation of roads, improving safety, application of sustainable technologies and updating regulatory standards.
PIARC is a recognized international platform that brings together road industry experts from more than 140 countries. The mission of the association is to promote global knowledge exchange, to formulate modern approaches and to strengthen professional interaction in the field of road infrastructure.
