“KazdorNII” organized a seminar on “Innovative approaches in road construction for the southern regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

The event was held in Shymkent with the support of the Committee for Roads of the MIID RK and the Department of Passenger Transport and Roads of Turkestan oblast.

During the event, organized by “KazdorNII”, representatives of contractor organizations and interested state bodies discussed a number of topical issues related to road construction and repair in the region. They discussed innovative approaches based on the experience of using geosynthetic materials in road construction, as well as methods of soil stabilization and improvement of asphalt mixtures using special additives.

Also the most modern materials and road-building machinery from the world leading manufacturers were presented at the seminar - protective and regenerating compositions, docking bitumen-polymer tape, bitumen-polymer emulsion and granular polymer-modified bitumen.

“New technologies in our industry don’t always reach the regions. Since road quality is now a special priority, the akimats have a real interest in training local specialists and organizing similar venues for sharing experience and information,” says Asel Nugmanova, director of KazdorNII’s Department of Road Construction Materials and New Technologies.

Last month, the Institute held a similar seminar in Aktobe. It was dedicated to the introduction of new technologies on roads in the western regions of the republic.

“Development of communication between road specialists is very important, especially against the background of staff shortage in the industry. Colleagues get acquainted, begin to discuss, problem areas are identified on the spot, technologies suitable for the areas are discussed, and people exchange contact information,” Nugmanova adds.

Let us remind that the head of the state has repeatedly called to create sites for discussion of urgent problems. Such events, according to experts, accompany the discussion of urgent issues and the search for effective solutions to improve the condition of road surfaces and ensure safety and comfort on the roads.
